What LadderKit is
One job, done properly
LadderKit is career progression software for companies of roughly 20 to 200 people — tech companies, startups and small businesses, often without an HR team. Each department writes down its career ladder: tracks, levels, roles and the skills each role requires.
Everything else uses those same levels: check-ins where people assess themselves and their manager reviews, 1:1 records tagged with the skills discussed, feedback from colleagues, growth actions with due dates, and promotions decided on a written case. Managers and team leads run it themselves; nobody needs to be an HR specialist.
How we work
What you can count on
Priced per organisation
One monthly price for the whole organisation, not per person. Every core feature is on every plan; paid plans differ in team size and add Slack notifications and the option to require Google or Microsoft sign-in.
Focused on career progression
We do one thing: career ladders and the conversations around them. You set it up yourself — there is no data import, and the one integration, Slack notifications on paid plans, is optional — and every rating, case and piece of feedback is written by a person.
Promotions stay private until they happen
A promotion request is seen by the managers deciding it, never by the person it is about. They find out when the new role applies.
Open salary ranges
Salary ranges are optional. When you set them, everyone who can open a role sees its ranges.
In your team's language
LadderKit is available in 28 languages. Each person picks their own language, and their emails and notifications arrive in it.
Data and security
How we look after your data
- Your data is stored in data centres in Europe.
- Every connection to LadderKit is encrypted (HTTPS).
- The database is backed up every night, and the 30 most recent backups are kept.
- People can sign in with Google or Microsoft, as well as with email and password.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. Card numbers go straight to Stripe and never reach LadderKit; we keep only the card brand, last four digits and expiry date to show on the billing page.
- We do not sell customer data, and we do not use it for advertising.
